Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 6, 2026 · Version 1.0 (Public Alpha)
1. Data Controller & Contact
This Privacy Policy applies to the Pexer desktop terminal host application and the website at pexer.app (collectively, "Pexer", "we", "us", or "our"). For any inquiries or requests regarding data privacy, contact our legal and support team at [email protected].
2. The Pexer Desktop Application: 100% Offline & Zero Telemetry
Pexer is engineered as a standalone, native Windows executable (pexer.exe). Its architecture is strictly offline:
- • Zero Keystroke Logging: We do not log, buffer, or record any keypresses or terminal commands.
- • Zero Prompt & Buffer Telemetry: All text streams, Claude Code / Codex outputs, subagent logs, and environment variables stay strictly in your local GPU memory.
- • Zero Network Sockets: The application does not open background telemetry sockets, diagnostic analytics, or tracking pings to remote servers.
3. Website Analytics & Commercial Purchases
When you browse our website or purchase a Founding License:
- • Zero Tracking Cookies: Our website uses zero third-party advertising cookies, zero Google Analytics, and zero cross-site trackers. Only strictly necessary session states (such as checkout modals) are used.
- • Payment Processing via Polar.sh: Commercial transactions are processed securely by our Merchant of Record, Polar.sh (in partnership with Stripe). We never collect or store your raw payment card credentials. Polar collects billing emails and location data solely for VAT/sales tax compliance and license delivery.
- • Voluntary Release Updates & Platform Waitlists: If you voluntarily provide your email address to receive release notifications or join the Linux version waitlist, we collect and store your email strictly for that purpose. We enforce a Double Opt-In verification process to confirm ownership. You can unsubscribe at any time with a single click via the unsubscribe link in every email, immediately ceasing all communications. We never sell, rent, or share subscriber lists with third parties.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)
For visitors and customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, processing of transaction data is conducted under:
- • Contractual Necessity: To issue your perpetual license key and update pass upon purchase.
- • Legal Obligation: To satisfy statutory financial, tax, and accounting compliance.
- • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): For voluntary release updates and the Linux waitlist, which can be revoked at any time.
5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your purchase contact records, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because our desktop application collects zero personal data, there is no telemetry or usage profile to delete. To exercise billing data rights, email [email protected].
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Pexer is intended for professional developers and software engineers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If we learn that such data has been provided during a checkout, it will be deleted promptly.
7. Policy Updates
Any revisions to this Privacy Policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Material updates will be highlighted in our changelog.
